The NXGN Upright System
NXGN Uprights are the core engineering component that makes the NXGN hoarding system truly free-standing. Fabricated from mild steel, these brackets clamp onto timber hoarding studs and extend outward to create a foot on which blow-moulded weight blocks are placed for counterbalance.
The result is a hoarding system that requires no ceiling braces, no floor penetration, no tile damage — making it ideal for shopping centre and retail environments where the existing infrastructure must not be modified.
Upright Components
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
| Stud Receiver | The vertical channel that slides over and clamps onto the timber stud. Fabricated from 75×4mm flat bar. |
| Horizontal Member | Extends outward from the stud receiver perpendicular to the hoarding face. Fabricated from 50×50×1.6mm RHS. |
| Foot | The base plate on which weight blocks are placed. Fabricated from 50×50×1.6mm RHS. |
| Weight Locators | Small brackets on the foot that keep weight blocks centred and prevent sliding. Fabricated from 25×25×1.6mm RHS. |
How It Works
- The stud receiver slides over the timber stud at the panel junction
- The upright is fixed to the stud with chipboard screws (3 fixing points)
- The horizontal member extends outward behind the hoarding
- The foot rests flat on the floor surface
- Weight blocks are placed on the foot between the weight locators
- The weight of the blocks counterbalances the hoarding panel, keeping it upright
Key Features
- No ceiling fixings — hoarding is stabilised entirely by counterweight
- No floor penetration — foot simply rests on the existing floor
- No tile damage — soft rubber pads on foot protect floor surfaces
- Fully relocatable — uprights can be unclipped and moved as the project evolves
- Tamper-proof — tamper-proof fixing holes prevent unauthorised removal
