Material Specification
NXGN Uprights are fabricated from mild steel sections. Each upright consists of three primary structural components and additional weight locators:
| Component | Material | Section Size |
|---|---|---|
| Stud Receiver | Flat Bar | 75×4mm |
| Horizontal Member | RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) | 50×50×1.6mm |
| Foot | RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) | 50×50×1.6mm |
| Weight Locators | RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) | 25×25×1.6mm |
Welding Specification
The upright components are joined using structural welds. The welding specification varies depending on the joint type:
| Joint | Weld Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Stud Receiver to Horizontal | Butt & Fillet Welds | Structural joint — full penetration required |
| Horizontal to Foot | Butt & Fillet Welds | Structural joint — full penetration required |
| Weight Locators to Foot | Tack Welds | Positioning only — not structural |
Surface Treatment
- All uprights are hot-dip galvanised or powder-coated after fabrication for corrosion resistance
- Weld areas are cleaned and ground before surface treatment
- Regular inspection for corrosion, cracking or deformation is required
Quality Control
- All welds must be visually inspected for defects
- No porosity, undercut or lack of fusion at structural joints
- Uprights with any cracking must be immediately removed from service
- Stud receiver must be straight and true — any bending disqualifies the upright
