On-Site Assembly Overview
Practical Hoardings are assembled entirely on-site using 70×45mm MGP10 timber for the frame and 9mm MDF or Plywood for the skin. Unlike pre-fabricated Panel Hoardings, the frame is built in-situ — plates are cut to length, studs are installed, and the skin is fixed on-site.
Frame Construction
The frame is constructed from plates (top and bottom) with studs positioned between them. Upright studs (UR ST) are installed at each point where an NXGN upright will be fixed.

Upright Placement
NXGN Uprights are installed at each panel skin join — where two skin sheets meet on the frame. Offset uprights are used as needed for doorways, returns and obstacles.
Construction Sequence
- Cut top and bottom plates to the total hoarding run length
- Install upright studs (UR ST) at each skin join position
- Fix studs to plates using 2× 65mm Chipboard Screws per joint
- Fix 9mm MDF/Plywood skin to the frame — see Skin Fixing Specification
- Install NXGN uprights — see Practical Upright Fixing
- Place weight blocks on upright feet per load rating table
