Door Head Overview
A door head is a pre-fabricated frame assembly that sits above a doorway opening within the hoarding run. It provides structural support for the hoarding above the door opening and defines the maximum door opening height and width.
Frame Components

| Door Head Top Plate | DHTP | 70×35mm MGP10 Timber |
| Door Head Bottom Plate | DHBP | 70×35mm MGP10 Timber |
| Head Studs | DHST | 70×35mm MGP10 Timber |

Door Head Height Calculation
The door head height is calculated based on the door opening height and the total panel height:
Formula: Door Head Height (DHH) = Panel Height − Door Opening Height
For example, with a 2400mm panel and a 2040mm door opening, the door head height is 360mm.
Construction Notes
- Door head sits above the doorway and spans the full door opening width (DOW)
- Opening studs support the door head from the face panels on each side
- Offset uprights are typically required at doorways — see Offset Uprights
- Skin is applied to the face of the door head frame with 35mm 10G screws
