Panel Connection Method
NXGN panel hoardings are connected panel-to-panel by fixing through the Panel Stud (ST). Each panel is secured to the adjacent panel using chipboard screws driven through the stud at three separate fixing points along the height of the panel.
| Detail | Specification |
|---|---|
| Fixing Method | Through Panel Stud (ST) |
| Screw Type | 65mm 10G Chipboard Screws |
| Fixing Points | Top, Middle, Bottom |
| Minimum Fixings | 3 per panel connection |
Standard Panel Installation
Standard panels are installed in a straight run. Each panel is positioned adjacent to the previous panel with the studs aligned. The fixing screws are driven through the stud into the adjacent panel's stud, creating a continuous hoarding run.
- Ensure panels are plumb and level before fixing
- Drive fixings central to the stud once alignment is confirmed
- Check that the skin face is flush between adjoining panels
- Install uprights at each panel join for free-standing support
Splay Panel Connection
Splay panels feature a skin overhang that extends beyond the timber frame. This overhang creates a flush corner finish when the splay panel meets the adjacent face panel at an angle. The splay panel is fixed through the skin into the adjacent panel's stud.
- Splay skin overhang provides a flush, seamless corner appearance
- Fixed through skin into adjacent panel stud with 65mm 10G Chipboard Screws
- Corner braces required where an offset upright cannot be installed
Upright Placement
Uprights should be installed at every panel joint — refer to the Upright Fixing Detail guide for fixing positions and screw specifications. Offset uprights may be required at doorways and obstacles — see Offset Uprights.
