Upright-to-Panel Fixing
NXGN Uprights are fixed to the Panel Studs (ST) or Stud Receivers within the panel frame. The upright's stud receiver slides over the timber stud, and is then secured with chipboard screws at three fixing points along the height.
| Detail | Specification |
|---|---|
| Fixing Method | Through Stud Receiver into Panel Stud |
| Screw Type | 40mm 8G Chipboard Screws (or 65mm 10G depending on receiver type) |
| Fixing Points | Top, Middle, Bottom |
| Minimum Fixings | 3 per upright |
Alignment Requirements
Correct alignment is critical for the hoarding to stand plumb and level, and for the weight blocks to distribute load evenly:
- Upright must be plumb (vertical) — check with a spirit level
- Upright must be level with the panel face — no tilting forward or back
- Fixings should be driven central to the stud once plumb and level is confirmed
- Do not over-tighten — screws should be firm but not pulling through the steel
Upright Positioning
Standard uprights are installed at each panel join — where two adjacent panels meet. This places the upright stud receiver directly over the panel stud at the junction, providing structural support to both panels simultaneously.
For doorways, returns and obstacles, offset uprights may be required — see Offset Uprights.
Weight Block Placement
After the upright is secured, weight blocks are placed on the upright foot. The number of weight blocks depends on the panel height — see Load Ratings & Weight Blocks for the complete table.
